The History and Culture of Stretched Ears

People have been decorating and making changes to the appearance of their bodies since recorded history began. This has taken many forms through the ages, such as tattooing, piercing, stretching, scarring, branding, muscle sculpture, hair styling and many more, and for almost as many different reasons.

The three major purposes of these forms of body modification have historically been tribal (to display allegiance to one tribe or group of people), in war (to scare the enemy and distinguish friend from foe), and for fashion and perceived beauty. Ear stretching has been popular for centuries, but this popularity has increased in Western culture in recent years.

For some, there is a profound spirituality in the protracted process of stretching ears, while for others it is fun and more involved than simple ear piercing, and the fact that fewer people do it adds to its appeal. Others have their own reasons, but irrespective of these, stretched ears have always been part of human history and will continue to be so.

Reasons For Stretching Ears

Just as with other forms of body modification or enhancement, people have historically stretched their ears for a number of reasons. For some cultures, this represented a coming of age, while for others it was carried out to enhance beauty or sexuality. Throughout the ages it has been used both for religious reasons and to protect the subject from witchcraft or evil. Ear stretching is still carried out all over the world for a variety of reasons, including those mentioned above.

If you travel to Africa, you will find that stretched ears are common among many indigenous peoples, including the Maasia in east Africa, the Mursi in Ethiopia, and it is also carried out in some Asian countries such as Thailand. In South America, stretched ears are common amongst the Huaorami of the Amazon Basin, but you generally need go no further than your own hometown to see some excellent examples of ear stretching. Stretched piercings and flesh tunnels are now a common form of ear adornment for Western youth.

Icemen and Pharaohs

One of the more famous examples from history is Ötzi the Iceman, a 5,300 year-old mummified body found in the Alps between Austria and Italy. In addition to several tattoos, Ötzi had an ear stretched to around 7 mm – 11 mm diameter. The giant Easter Island statues display stretched ear lobes, the likely reason for them being known as ‘Long Ears’. The story goes that the statues were carved in honour of the original inhabitants of the island representing them with the earlobe stretchings that were part of their culture. When a different tribe arrived on the island, they were known as ‘Short Ears’, and were forced into slavery by the Long Ears. Eventually there were more Short Ears than Long Ears, and the latter were overthrown and the statues toppled over.

In Egypt, the boy king Tutankhamen is represented as having stretched ears, and his famous golden death mask features holes that can take 10 mm diameter bars. The processes used to stretch these famous sets of ears are not known, because there are many techniques that can be used. It is likely that primitive stretchings were carried out using wooden plugs or bamboo, and although a few people like to return to these early methods, they are not recommended today for health reasons.

Stretching Ears is Not Reversible

If you are interested in stretched ears, there are certain factors of which you should be aware. The first is that it is generally permanent. Once stretched, your ears stay that way. The holes do not heal over like a normal ear piercing, so make sure that you are happy with having stretched ears for the rest of your life. There is time at the beginning to stop and allow your ears to heal back to normal, but once the diameter reached 10-12 mm, it is too late and the hole will not close up. Another is that it takes time and patience. You do not visit a piercer and come out after an hour or two with stretched ears!

If you have decided that you want it done, you are advised to have the procedure carried out professionally. Yes, you can go it alone, but a professional will provide you with the best results, and it will also be safer. It will be quicker if your ears are already pierced, because otherwise you will need that done first and then wait up to 8 weeks for it to heal. Then you can start of the stretching, or gauging as it is often referred to.

That is because the diameter of the needles used is referred to as their ‘gauge’. The gauge of a needle drops as the diameter increases, so that an 18-gauge needle is small – in fact, that’s the gauge of an average initial piercing. Once you reach a 2 gauge, the diameter is that of a pencil and so on down. An 11 mm hole is 000-gauge (actually 11.11 mm or 7/16 inch).

Ear Stretching Should Not Be Rushed

As already explained, ear stretching is a slow process, and you should never try to rush it. If you try to rush, it will likely take longer eventually because unless the ear has time to get used to each lower gauge it won’t heal properly. You might then have to start all over again. Gauged ears should not bleed and there is distinct procedure to follow. Fundamentally, you increase the diameter of the piercing in small steps, allowing healing between each step. A common way to achieve this is to use an insertion taper, where one end of the taper is the same diameter as your existing hole, and the other side is of larger diameter.

This can be in the form of a stud that you wear until you are ready for the next size up. The next stud will have one end at the current diameter and the other at the lower gauge (larger diameter). That is pushed through and secured, and you wear that until the next insertion, and so on. If you keep your ears and jewellery clean and sterilized between sessions using anti-bacterial soap or saline solution then you should heal fine between each session – allow about two weeks between sessions.

Take the Advice of the Pros

It is very important to follow the advice of the professionals, and do not try to cut corners. Many people have ruined their ears by failing to be patient, so don’t let that be you. Follow cleaning instructions to the letter, both during and after the entire stretching process. There are many different types of ear jewellery available for stretched ears, including flesh tunnels, bars and rings.

There is also a wide choice of materials, from wood or plastic to gold and platinum. Many prefer glass while others find Teflon best, particularly if they suffer allergies. Niobium, surgical stainless steel and titanium are also popular materials for stretched ear jewellery.

Keep in mind that not all can be worn indefinitely, particularly the porous materials such as wood, shell and some plastics that can harbour bacteria, yeasts and fungi. Such jewellery should be regularly removed and thoroughly cleaned and sterilized. Ear stretching sets you apart from the usual crowd, and can be a very distinctive form of ornamentation. It is something that few people regret having done.

A Dog’s Digestive System

A dog’s digestive system is a highly specialized anatomical structure. To gain an understanding of how it operates and what it requires it helps if you understand how it compares to the other types of digestive systems in the animal kingdom.

Herbivores (plant eaters) have the longest digestive tract in the mammalian kingdom. Some of them like, cows have multiple stomachs that are used to break down and ferment various plant materials. True herbivores have the ability to digest plant and vegetable cellulose and can rely on plants for complete nutrition. They have flat blunt teeth, which they use to grind cellulose and grain. Their jaws have the ability to move sideways and grind their food. Of course dogs don’t fall in this category and their digestive organs were never designed to assimilate or catabolise plant based materials.

Omnivores: (plant and meat eaters) have one stomach and their intestines are shorter than the cow but longer than the dog. They have the ability to digest vegetation but they have enough enzymes and acid in their gut to digest animal protein as well. Their ability to break down cellulose is limited and they need both vegetation and animal protein for complete nutrition. Omnivores have a combination of sharp teeth used for tearing and ripping flesh and flat molars used for grinding grains and plants.

Carnivores: (meat eaters) like the dog has the shortest digestive system in the kingdom of mammals. Their jaws are hinged and contain sharp jagged blade like molars, which allows them to swallow large chunks of meat and gorge themselves. This ability enables dogs to consume a great deal of food and then rest until the next kill. Dogs are direct decedents of the wolf and they require meat protein to stay healthy and vibrant. Dogs do not have the ability to digest or assimilate cellulose and have no real need or craving for grain or vegetable based food.

The dog is a carnivore with a digestive system and process designed to break down and assimilate protein, bones, and fat. Their stomachs have a much higher level of hydrochloric acid to digest and assimilate meat protein.

Many commercial grade dog foods are produced on the premise that a dog’s digestion is similar to humans. Because it’s cheaper to make dog food with grains and plant materials many times the main ingredient in the dog food is corn, wheat, or some other type of plant-based carbohydrate.

Many veterinarians believe commercial grade dog food is garbage or even poison. Some of them have stated carbohydrates are not required at all for the nutritional need of dogs. It’s not hard to understand if you consider a wolf will starve before it will eat corn or any other vegetable. Dogs require a vast array of amino acids that are only found in meat. To feed them vegetable products will only shorten their life and ruin their health.

Have you ever wondered what’s in your dog’s food? Dog Food Secrets reveals what is used in the manufacture of your dog’s food. If you love your pet you owe it to yourself and them to read the free report.

Can I Sell Other Company Products Online?

The short answer is: Yes!

But extremely, it all depends on companies and the kind of products they sell. If you are interested to sell these products online, then you probably want to consider a few important factors before you proceed.

Here are the things for you to consider:

Legal Companies

It is important to do a quick background check on them. Online, you can use services that provide such information, for example Alexa, or WHOIS, and consider their legalities before you get involved. Once you obtained some information on the companies, contact them to check for validity.

Proven Track Records

This could be tricky information to obtain. You probably could not get info from a quick visit to the website. Without the companies were within your vicity, for you to go and check them up, the best option is to go with networks of companies that have been verified by third parties, for example companies in Cost Per Action (CPA) networks.

Multi-Level Marketing Companies

They are also one of the best choices, provided they can prove to you their track record and legitimacy. In fact, this is the preferred way if you seriously thinking about selling other company products online.

Profitable Product to Sell Online

Some products are not meant to be sold online. People can use online platform to gather leads, but the sales are better consummated off-line. If you want to sell products of other companies this way, you can, but you must make sure you got compensated for the leads you send their way.

The best thing about this, if you choose it, is you do not need to stack up goods to be distributed. A good example of this is drop-shipping business. With this business model, all you got to do is to send leads the companies way, and they will take care of the rest, while you sit back and wait for your commission.

Xbox 360 3 Red Light Error Repair Procedure

The Xbox 360 is the latest version of Microsoft's Xbox console. This video game consoles was launched in 2005. During the launch, Sony was the main gaming console which competed with its Play station 2.

Problem with Hardware

The users around the world who are using Xbox 360 faced the problem with the console. The problem is due to overheating of the console. Xbox 360 is designed with latest technology, which can support very high resolution graphics. It gives the best graphical support, with two processors, Central Processing Unit and Graphical Processor Unit. It was designed with heat sink which fails to work when the console is operated for long hours. The X clamps which are located over the processor and motherboard stops the air flow inside the console. By removing the X clamps we can solve this problem.

Removing the X clamp is not a big work, its very simple and just by using the household tools you can do it.

Step One:

Turn off your Xbox 360, and unplug it. Just using your thumb fingers pull the face plate from the bottom of the console.

Step Two:

Now, turn up side down your console, and take a close look where you can see the holes and locate top and bottom of each side. And further you can see gray tabs on its ends and center of the console. They hold the console top and bottom pieces. Using some pointed object remove the case off.

Step Three:

Now gently pock out three clips in each side, totally six clips. To remove it you may need a rubber pad. Be careful to remove front of the gray cover

Step Four:

Now take a close look at the back of the console. You may see two notches on right and left side. Gently unscrew them, first at the left side and then at the right side. This is the trickiest part to do, so be careful while doing it.

Step Five:

Now get back to the front side and undo the four catches. Gently take off the front case off the console. Gently remove the DVD button arm assembly and disconnect the SATA connection from the motherboard and take out the DVD drive out of the console.

Step Six:

Remove all the screws.

Step Seven:

Now remove the airflow guide from the console. Be very gentle while removing it.

Step Eight:

Now disconnect the power cable of the cooling fans from the motherboard and remove the fan device from the console using small screw driver.

Step Nine

You can see a white cover in the front side; Just remove it from the case by undoing its screws and latches. Now you can very quickly lift up the motherboard from the console, where you can see the heat sinks installed over it.

Step Ten

Flip the motherboard where you can see the X connectors on the bottom of it. Now be very gently to remove the X clamps from it and be very conscious. Apply some force to remove it.

Step Eleven:

Now clean the Thermal Compound from the GPU, CPU and Heat Sinks using Rubbing Alcohol very gently. Do not touch the processors and Heat sinks by your bare hands.

Step Twelve:

After cleaning them, you just have to replace the thermal component to its location. Clean the GPU and CPU with wiping bags and replace the X clamps. Use some washers with the screw before screwing up the X clamps; This is to provide some distance from the processor for air flow.

Step fourteen:

Insert a metal washer first and a nylon washer after that, this way you have to screw it up. Now align the heat sinks over them and tight the bolts. Undo all the process that you have done for removing the console. Screw all the parts as you unscrewed before. Now plug on the console and note Red lights on the power ring area. After 1 minute power off and now you can see the thermal components getting melted because of heat. Unscrew them all and place them as per before you did. Now completely screw all the nuts and bolts and bring it to the original position and turn on the console and now you may see the console work perfectly. Just enjoy it!

3 Ways to Create a Motivational Collage

One powerful collage theme is motivation! But in order to create a motivational theme you first need to write down a goal. Start with a simple goal that relates to something personal that you are working to toward.

For example, I often have freshmen students in beginning art classes create a goal collage on their major. Where do they want to go? Where do they see their selves after graduation.

Consider the following 3 simple steps.

1. Sort and gather images that will motivate you to reach a goal. For example, if you are remodeling your house only gather those images that relate to that process. This would not be the collage that has images of your last birthday party.

2. Think possible not impossible

It is easy to get discouraged when doing your collage if you think about cost and other limitations. Stay focused on your dream. It can happen. That is why you are creating a collage with a goal in mind.

3. Have fun!

Think out of the box. Mix your images with powerful and inspiring words that will help you achieve your goals,

So write out your goals. Start searching for your images and get started.

If you need help doing goal setting I have a great coach for you.

Send an email to [email protected]. She will work with you to create solid goal statements using the SMART method. That stands for specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and tangible.

And remember you can always contact me for any suggestions on your collage making process.

A Winning Strategy For Farkle

If you Google the history of Farkle, you'll find numerous theories as to the origin of the game, all significantly different. But one thing we know for sure:

Farkle is older than dirt. First there was Farkle, then dirt.

Why do you suppose it's been around for so long? Probably because it's fun. Farkle has just the right combination of luck and skill to have amassed a broad appeal among people around the world and to have remained popular for hundreds of years. If you have never played Farkle, you should give it a try.

Many Farkle enthusiasts insist that luck is much more prominant in determining a winner than any skill involved. This is true in a single game. But as more games are played, skill becomes more significant and luck less significant in determining the overall winner. If you sit down with 3 friends and play 12 games of Farkle, luck alone dictates that you'll win about 3 games, and so will your friends. 3 times 4 equals 12.

However, if you use my Winning Strategy For Farkle (and assuming your friends do not), you'll more likely win about 4 games rather than 3. No, it does not mean you'll win every game, but over time, You will emerge as the best Farkle player in your group. Your friends will start calling you "The Farkle Expert", or "Mr. (or Mrs. Miss Miss) Farkle" or "The Farkle Guru". Would that be cool or what?

My strategy assumes the following rules:

· It takes 500 points to get "on the board".
· It takes 10000 points to win.
· A five is worth 50 points.
· A one is worth 100 points.
· Three 1's is worth 300 points.
· Three 2's is worth 200 points.
· Three 3's is worth 300 points.
· Three 4's is worth 400 points.
· Three 5's is worth 500 points.
· Three 6's is worth 600 points.
· Any 4-of-a-kind is worth 1000 points.
· Straight (1-2-3-4-5-6) is worth 1500 points.
· Three Pair (2-2-3-3-4-4) is worth 1500 points.
· Any 5-of-a-kind is worth 2000 points.
· Triplets (2-2-2-3-3-3) are worth 2500 points.
· Any 6-of-a-kind is worth 3000 points.

The Strategy:

1. In the beginning of a game, when you are trying to get the required points to get "on the board", stop throwing after you have the required points on the table, unless you can throw all 6 dice again. If you can throw all the dice again, that is called ".. and rolling" and you should do that.

Example # 1: You throw 5.5-5-2-3-4

The three 5's are worth 500 points. So you have enough to get "on the board". So do not throw the remaining 3 dice again. Just stop and take the 500 points.

Example # 2: You throw 1-2-3-4-5-6

You have a straight worth 1500 points so you could stop and satisfy the "on the board" requirement. But since you can throw all 6 dice again, you should do that.

Now that you have satisfied the "on the board" requirement, we can talk about the rest of the game.

2. If, after any turn, you discover that all six dice are worth points, so that you can throw all six dice again if you choose, you should throw the dice again. This rule is especially difficult to adhere to when you have just thrown triplets or some other high-scoring combination, and you're thinking to yourself, "If I throw all six dice and get nothing (a Farkle, a goose-egg, the Big zero, the old 'bust-a-roo'), then I'll loose the 2500 points for my Triplet. Oh gosh, I do not think I could go on living if that happened. Put a hole in my self-esteem the size of the Belgian Congo "

Nah. It's not that bad. You'll bust (or "Farkle") less than 10% of the time that means over 90% of the time you'll throw some more points and improve your score.

3. So the big decision, the one you'll have to make dozens of times in each game of Farkle, is "Should I stop now, or keep throwing?"

The exact answer to this question is very complicated. But we can simplify it and put it into terms everyone can deal with. You just need two pieces of information: 1) how many dice am considering moving and 2) how many points would I have if I did not throw, ie, if I stopped now?

If you are considering throwing:

6 dice Just do it! Do not worry about it.
5 dice Stop at 2000 points or more. Otherwise go ahead and throw.
4 dice Stop at 1000 points or more. Otherwise go ahead and throw.
3 dice Stop at 500 points or more. Otherwise go ahead and throw.
2 dice Stop at 400 points or more. Otherwise go ahead and throw.
1 dice Stop at 300 points or more. Otherwise go ahead and throw.

4. Never hold a 5 (worth 50 points) unless you have no other choice.

Example # 1: You throw 5.5-2-3-3-4

You could hold on to the two fives (worth 100 points total) and throw the remaining 4 dice. But it's better to hold just one of the fives (worth 50 points) and throw the remaining 5 dice.

Example # 2: You throw 1-5-5-2-3-3

Here, you have a single one (worth 100 points) and two fives (worth 100 points combined). So you could save those three dice and throw the other three. But you would be making a mistake. The rules say that you must hold at least one die before you can continue your turn and throw again, so the correct strategy is to hold the single one and not the two fives. So you would throw five dice.

5. When an opponent gets above 8000 points, you need to start thinking about playing a little more aggressively. Especially if your total is 5000 or less. When the difference between your score and leader becomes greater than the difference between the leader and winning the game, it's time to take the gloves off. Up those totals in rule 3 above. Do not stop at 400 points when you have 2 dice to throw. Keep throwing!

When my opponent is within 1000 points of winning the game, and I'm way down at 5000 points or so, I do not stop throwing until I get above 2000 points. Every so often, I get that big throw that puts me right back in the game.

Look at this this way, although it may look dangerous to continue throwing when you have 700 or 800 points, especially if you're only throwing 2 dice, the alternative of stopping is not going to do you any good! Adding 700 or 800 points to a pitiful score like 5000 is not going to change the output of the game … you are still going to lose! The only thing that will save you now is some big 4-digit turns.

So stop worrying about it and throw those dice! Throw them fast and furiously. Throw 'em like there's no tomorrow. Throw 'em like a drunken sailor.

As I mentioned at the outset, this strategy will not guarantee a victory on any particular game. But it will ensure that you win more than your share of games. Remember, your goal is to be known throughout your town as the "Farkle Queen" (or "King" as the case may be).

Prairie House Plans

Living in a welcoming home in a lovely setting is the American dream. Maybe you have country farm house plans of your own after seeing television shows featuring old-time family life. The rich history of prairie style homes makes them a modern delight.

Updated prairie homes were originally built in the early 1900s by world famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He designed prairie houses to blend into the flatter prairie landscape. The homes got their name after 1901 when Wright's plan entitled "A Home in a Prairie Town" in Ladies Home Journal.

The original prairie houses were made of plaster with wood trim. Some prairie style houses were sided with horizontal batten and board. Now prairie style homes use concrete block. They can be square, T-shaped, Y-shaped, L-shaped or shaped like a pinwheel.

Prairie house plans typically include certain features. A prairie style home is recognized by its low-pitched roof, horizontal lines, overhanging eaves, central chimney, claerestory windows and an open floor plan. Wright designed prairie homes because he felt the rooms in Victorian houses were confining and boxed-in. Leaded glass panels often divide the rooms for a more open, spacious feeling.

Many consider the Frederic C. Robie House the finest example of the Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style. The Frederic C. Robie House was built in Chicago in 1909. The Frank W. Thomas House in Oak Park, Illinois is considered to be Wright's first prairie house and was also one of he first times he used stucco.

Prairie style houses actually used Japanese architecture. Flowing interior areas and long, banded windows create geometric shapes and patterns. The low-lying design is meant to integrate right into the surrounding landscapes. Wright believed homes should exist in harmony with nature. Prairie house floor plans are designed so they will not intrude on the landscapes around them.

Prairie houses were the first American architecture style that was seriously considered in Europe. This attractive house design remains popular throughout the United States. Unbelievably, Wright never even attended architecture school. Wright's down-to-earth beginnings were working on his uncle's farm during his childhood.

Wright enjoyed a 70-year career and extremely designed 1,141 buildings of all sorts. Of all these designs, 532 were completed and 409 are standing today. Wright realized how noticeable his work was and stated, "The physicist can bury his mistakes, but the architect can only advise his clients to plant vines."

Other architects designed variations of the prairie style house. The American foursquare style is also known as a Prairie Box. In 1936, Wright designed a simplified version of prairie style houses called Usonian. A modern prairie style house is a luxurious oasis tucked away in lush landscapes.

How to Show Heartfelt Sympathy to Someone That Has Lost a Parent

Losing a parent is difficult. It does not really matter how old you are when you lose your mom or dad. Obviously a young child who loses a parent will have their life turned upside down. The older you are the more you expect it to happen, but it does not lessen the pain. Death is not easy and death of a parent is often one of the hardest times in a person's life.

When a friend loses a parent we are quick to send condolences. If you are a close friend you may even offer to entertain children, screen calls, or cook meals. During these difficult times you want to be careful how you talk. It's not considered good etiquette to tell them you know how they feel, unless you also have lost a parent. If you have experience the heartache of losing a parent feel free to talk about it. Just be sure you try to not make this all about your pain.

It is difficult to find the right words when trying to give comfort and express your sadness for them. Find words of encouragement rather than comments that could offend. Since you are a close friend share some memories you may have of their parent. Find some funny memories to share, be there to laugh and cry.

If you are just a acquaintance or coworker and someone has lost a parent your approach may be different. You should feel free to send them a card expressing your condolences. Keep it short and genuine. Offer your support if they should need it. If you are able, find out if someone is heading up meals and offer to take one to them. Sending flowers, or a gift basket would also be appropriate and welcomed during this time. Be sure to attend the funeral or memorial service even if you did not know them well. Just knowing they have a large support system behind them can help them through that difficult day.

Finally, if the child is young who just lost their mom or dad, be especially sensitive to their needs. They may want to talk, they may want to watch a movie or play a game. Children deal with death in many ways. Usually it varies from hour to hour. Let the child take the lead in how they want to deal with it. Be there to talk, grieve, or entertain. It is one of the more difficult tasks, helping children deal with the loss of their parent, but one none the less that is most needed and should not be neglected.

Pros and Cons of Watching Television

Many of us love watching TV especially during our free time and if we don’t have anything to do. We like watching TV while eating our favorite snacks or hanging around in a friend’s place. Either way we are entertained when we watch TV. There are many different programs we can watch on TV depending on our mood and our personality. Some love watching comedy and talk shows while others particularly kids and those who are young at heart love watching cartoons on Cartoon Network or Disney channel.

But then, watching TV has its advantages and disadvantages. Experts say that too much watching of TV especially among children is not good for the health and the mind. TV can be entertaining and informative yet at times it can be damaging and harmful.

Below are the Pros and Cons of watching TV.

Pros:

1.) Entertainment and Laughter

We are entertained by shows we love to watch. We laugh at things we find funny and comical in the TV program we are watching. We also love to dance or sing along with celebrities we see on TV and some of us even copy their dance moves and singing styles.

2.) Information and How-To

We learn a lot of information about places and people that we usually don’t learn on magazines, books and newspapers. There are travel shows that show us beautiful places in the world and inform us the culture of different countries which can be a great help especially if we are planning to travel. We also easily learn how to cook new recipes by watching cooking shows and we can learn doing some other stuff through programs that show step-by-step procedures of performing a particular work, exercise or other interesting stuff.

3.) Improve Memory and Easy Learning

We usually take note of the time schedule for our favorite programs especially if it is only shown once or twice a week. We tend to store and recall the things that recently happened in our favorite show before the next episode will be shown on TV. This will help enhance our memory which we can apply on our daily life. For children, it is easier to learn math, science, alphabet and other subject matters if someone can show them how to do it like counting, identifying objects and a lot more. Educational TV shows are available for children to watch and learn.

4.) Bonding With Family and Friends

Watching TV is a great way to bond with family and friends especially on weekends. You can laugh and discuss things that you see on TV. That can be really fun.

5.) Awareness and Alertness

Weather reports and current news on different parts of the worlds can make you aware of what is happening outside your country. You can also be alert when there is an incoming typhoon in your area and that can help you get prepared.

Cons:

1.) Decline in creativity and imagination.

TV shows including commercials have tendency to share their creative works on us and impart their ideas and opinions on us which is not favorable and can lead to a decline in our creativity and imagination since we can not think on our own since creative stuff are readily available and shared to us.

2.) Health problems

We usually eat junk foods or any of our favorite snacks while watching TV. This is not good for our health because we tend to eat a lot while we are sitting down facing the television. This can lead to obesity since we don’t move a lot when we watch TV. This can also lead to other serious ailments caused by eating a lot and moving less.

3.) Makes people lazy

Most of us get hooked when watching programs of our favorite TV channel. We sometimes even forget to do our work or other important things because we got engaged in the show we are watching. Some people forget to do their household chores because they would rather watch TV than work.

4.) Some shows don’t teach good values.

There are TV programs that do not teach good values particularly to children. Instead of teaching them good deeds they even imitate, re-enact or spoof important things happening around us which is not good for children to watch.

To sum up, in watching TV you should choose and monitor the TV programs that you and your children should watch. Choose programs that can help you learn and grow as a person. You should also limit the time your children spend in watching TV. The maximum number of hours small kids should watch TV is 3 hours while for teenagers you should make sure they watch good shows only when they are done with homework and projects.
